By default Debian isn't shipping with the ip-tools package yet, so
configuration is still done with the annoyingly absurd 'route'
command which seems so broken in contrast to 'route' on Solaris.

But, I installed the ip-tools package just to see if would show me
anything different. It didn't, but I decided to play with the 'ip
route' command.

<annoyance-level=insanely hi!?

WHAT IS IT ABOUT LINUX THAT MAKES PEOPLE THINK THEY DON'T NEED
	MAN PAGES!!!!

	DESCRIPTION
This program does not have a useful manpage....
		.
		.
You can start reading the very good documents available in
the /usr/share/doc/iproute/ directory, in .ps, .dvi and
          .tex formats.

	ERRRRRRRR!

<rant>

I'm all for ps, tex, and dvi formats for documentation, but not for
something which is a system management tool, at least not as the only
form of documentaiton. What if I'm using this box as a router and it
has no monitor? What if I'm logged in over a slow serial link, and
need to quickly look something up? ERrrrrrrr! I hate these people,
they are conspiring to piss me off and it's working!

It may look like I'm just sitting here doing nothing,
but I'm really actively waiting for all my problems to go away.

If you're not having fun, you're not doing it right!
