  Why does the browser need to be tied to the email program?  You're really
imposing a huge restriction there.  There are tons of web browsers, and tons
of email programs, but comparatively few that do both.  I think you will
find your life gets much easier if you split the two functions.  So, do you
have a reason for wanting them tied together, or are you just saying that
because that is what you have now?

  I could offer solutions if the two were not tied together, but the only
combined browser/mail program I know of (on any platform) is
Netscape/Mozilla.  Both MSIE and Opera call external programs for their
companion mail functions.

  Yes.  Window menu -> Mail.  Or click the "inbox" icon in the bottom
toolbar.
