  You can get them from any number of places.  The local computer shows
(http://www.ncshows.com and http://www.pcshow.com) usually have a few
vendors who have them.  For mail order, try CyberGuys
(http://www.cyberguys.com).  Despite the corny name, I've been very happy
with them, and have in fact purchased such an adapter from them.

  The official name for the adapter is a "44-pin to 40-pin IDE hard disk
adapter", IIRC.
