Solved: I broke forwarding nameservice.

Turns out that the named died. All is well. Thanks guys.

Actually, I feel pretty secure with my setup the way it is. People bounce 
right off of it. I'm running apache, sendmail and ssh. It seems pretty 
well covered and I have what I think is an above average iptables 
firewall.
