That depends on who is *really* interested. Do as much research as you can. Ask the guy making the inquiry to give you some information on his company, including the name of any parent company. If he doesn't think that's important let him know that you've had the domain for years and who you sell it to is VERY important to you.
Then, take that info and figure out a price. If it's a small team of six college students hacking out a Quake world-builder in their free time, then you may be limited to three figures. If you trace it back up to Sun turning out a new Java studio then your options are a bit more significant.
Of course, if it is a small team that just can't go more than $1000 and you have some emotional bond to the name, then nothing says you must sell it. Just be warned that if they have deep enough pockets but can't get it by paying, they may try to take it thru legal battles. We've all read those stories...

Someone sent me an email offering money for my domain. They at first offered $200, now they say 'name your price'.
What's a reasonable price for a domain name? This is just my personal site, so it isn't critical. But at the same time I've had this domain for years....
