insert spaces instead of tabs, or use tab stops that aren't spaced at eight
column intervals.  Or apply proportional spacing to something designed to be
viewed in a fixed-width font.  Or otherwise screw with that which should not
be screwed with.
  As far as I'm concerned, I'm not responsible for your broken software.  
You can make the same argument as "One should not use any characters at all,
because 'rm -rf' removes them all."

  That won't fix the non-standard tab stop problem, though.
