Sending a message using "sendmail" will cause it to be invoked, but it
should only process that one message.

Doing a "service sendmail shutdown" will stop the main daemon, but any
children it has spawned to service requests or queue items will run until
they complete.

linuxconf has a tendency to screw everything up. I can't remember if it
is still in 7.2 or not, but if it is, I recommend "rpm --erase linuxconf"
ASAP.
