Note only that, but Microsoft Akamized www.microsoft.com last week.
Apparently, this was in response to DoS attacks (it might not be the MS
Blaster worm, but a separate DoS attack, tho). As of a few years ago,
Akamai used mainly FreeBSD systems. Today, the Akamai website hints that
MS-Windows servers are possible, but I dunno how real that is. In any
event, it seems likely that a great deal of MSFT's web infrastructure is
powered by some kind of FOSS at this point.
On a semi-related note, the switchover to Akamai has apparently caused
quite a few small, random breakages throughout the Microsoft website. I
tried to report a few problems to them, but apparently, one of the things
that broke was the web feedback form. *grin*
