More debian apt-get help

I believe you are looking for "gnome-core". However, the easiest way of
doing this would be to use Ximian-Gnome. Add 
'deb http://red-carpet.ximian.com/debian stable main' to your
/etc/apt/sources.list, run apt-get update, the 'apt-get install
task-ximian-gnome'.
