Handling inbound calls while dialed-up

the digital cable/phone/interenet over cable all run over different parts
of the spectrum. You can almost think of it as three seperate lines since
they never interact with each other (unless there's a problem).

Also, digital phone service goes from the cable to the side of your house
into the RSU (the phone box thing) and then it's just wired up into your
exsisting phone setup and still only uses two little wires. It's a lot
less likely to get static and the calls could be clearer, but they're
isn't going to be any more bandwidth for your phone calls..

Also, on a side note, AT&T digital phone service gives you CallerID, you
can probably ask to have it taken off, but you don't pay extra for it.
