    The big software to do this is "inn".  It's an industrial-strength package 
that is pretty easy to set up for small feeds (optimizing it is a bit more 
involved).  Since it's just you, inn is probably overkill.  There's another 
popular package called "leafnode" which is a news server aimed at end-users 
and small sites.  It has features like auto-dropping unread newsgroups and 
other nice touches.

    But the critical piece is to get your initial feed.  If your ISP doesn't 
carry the groups, do you have another feed in mind that will let you link in?
