    I'm sure they've given it a lot of thought but I don't know; I wouldn't be 
surprised to see it eventually modified, either by a straight reversal or a 
change in release schedules.  If it sticks it will definitely delineate a 
historical change in the way commercial Linux distros do things.

    Aww, com'on, I was using the term "package management" generically.  If we 
want to get that picky, I'd point out that there's no real such thing as "apt" 
(see "man apt").

    Despite some of rpm's nice features, until it gets the level of scripting 
that the deb format offers and a concept of remove and purge, I prefer dpkg.
