What's the best way to automatically swap smart hosts (sendmail)?

Another way is pop-auth.
You check your mail and then your IP address is put into a file and you're
allowed to send for some time (usually 15mins)
I did that for a long time until I switched to SMTP auth. MediaOne also did
pop-auth for a long time.
This is what I used - http://poprelay.sourceforge.net/
But smtp auth is probably the way to go.
