And even if it doesn't, the kernel may swap the editor buffer out to disk,
leaving potentially sensitive data written in swap space.
That's a solvable problem, too. You can encrypt your swapspace, or run a
sanitizing program at shutdown.
Or, if you can find an editor that can tell the kernel not to swap the
memory that holds the editor buffer, that would be ideal.
