P.S. For various reasons, I -believe- that with Samba 3.x, you will be
able to mount an SMB share and access it as any given local user, and have
the UID/GID go through, instead of having it be static at mount time.
[Based on previous, semi-related discussions on the Samba list, I know
that the smarts are there; whether or not the utilities will make use of
it I just don't know.]
