I agree entirely, and across the board.  I love my Sony, but I have to
say that the IBM TP 600 (just installed Debian on one two weeks ago) is
a fine machine.  Make sure you have enough RAM, but, b'sides that, there
should be no problems, and those screens are plenty nice...  [Query: I
was unable to get the modem to work.  Didn't try real hard.  Is it a
Winmodem?]
