My biggest complaint about CC is the price :)
Atria/Pure/Rational/IBM have you by the short ones and they know it !
Make no doubt about it, from a development tool perspective,
ClearCase is an immensely powerful tool, and I honestly have never
seen anything which can do what ClearCase is capable of. That being
said, it's also rare that I see an environment using CC which is
properly set up to take total advantage of the power and flexibility
of CC. To do so requires a decent sized release engineering team
well versed in CC administration, deep pockets to by lots of
hardware, and a great sysadmin team which also understands the
intricacies of CC from a sysadmin perspective.
Most shops have 1-2 CC admins, not enough money, and a sysadmin team
which doesn't understand "why CC needs what it does", resulting in a
far less than optimal implementation. In which case, they should
have stuck with CVS :)
BTW, in case it isn't obvious, I actually *like* ClearCase, I just
don't want to have to admin it :)

It may look like I'm just sitting here doing nothing,
but I'm really actively waiting for all my problems to go away.
If you're not having fun, you're not doing it right!
