I guess I can answer my own question:

Codeweavers CrossOver Office: $54.95

Other options:

Win4Lin Workstation V4.0:  electronic (download) $89.95 but requires a
Windows 98/98SE/ME license

VmWare Workstation 4.0: $299 electronic (download)

So I guess if you really must have the Microsoft stuff, in addition to
already owning the application you can choose these increasingly expensive
options. I suspect that the CodeWeavers and Win4Lin products would be
considered affordable for casual use but the VmWare product is pricey.

P.S. I suppose we could assume that the user might already have the
necessary Windows licenses although Microsoft tries very hard to limit
transferring to new machines.

Yes, but fortunately these all run well under Crossover Office.
