Yes. My logs show: 

    Nov 11 22:19:55 linux sendmail[5550]: hAC3JrD05550: tcpwrappers
    (unknown, 199.232.38.4) rejection
    
So my system just dropped the connection (assuming you were a spammer
that didn't have a domain name associated with your IP address). And it
dropped it almost before sendmail got involved.

So this invalidates my previous statement about
'accept_unresolvable_domains' - not that its wrong. But because I also
have tcpwrappers turned on in sendmail, sendmail never got to the
'accept_unresolvable_domains' logic. (I seem to remember not being able
to get a "turned off accept_unresolvable_domains" to work as I expected,
so I compiled tcpwrappers into sendmail. But that was so long ago I
don't remember clearly, and my journal has been archived away. Sorry for
any potential confusion.
