Rec on a digital voice recorder that talks to Linux via usb.

I was thinking that a digital voice recorder would be useful especially if 
I can store my meeting via USB. 

Is there a supported list of USB voice recorders or do they all just work 
by mounting them as vfat filesystems on the next available scsi device?

Anyone have experience?
