Looks like there will be three products:
Server software retailing for around $1,200
Workstation retailing for around $300
Stripped down version available for free download

The server and workstation versions will have like a 3 year life cycle
with some level of support over the term. The free version will only be
supported for a year maximum. After that support & patches will no
longer be available.

Also looks like they will be going to a 6 month production cycle (i.e.
new rev of the product every 6 months).

We've been bouncing around what to do about this at SANS and CIS as Red
Hat has always been the flavor of choice to support. Give the choice
will now be between "free with a short life cycle Vs. users have to pay
a lot of money", we're exploring other options. Its looking like
Mandrake will win out but if people have options they want to throw out
it would be greatly appreciated.
