apt-get errors

Hi All,

Has anyone seen this before? I get this error whenever I try to run
apt-get, no matter which action I give it (install, check, -f missing,
etc.). 

brodie2:/home/klussier# apt-get -f install
Reading Package Lists... Error!
E: Dynamic MMap ran out of room
E: Error occured while processing xine-ui (NewVersion1)
E: Problem with MergeList /var/lib/dpkg/status
E: Unable to write mmap - msync (14 Bad address)
E: The package lists or status file could not be parsed or opened.
