New England does have a higher cost of living then down south or the
midwest..

You basically have to thing.. do you want to save money by living in NH
but spend an extra 1-2hours commuting every day, or do you want a short
commute and more time to yourself (plus less wear and tear on your car)

The morning commute in seems to be fairly short (I currently go to
Somerville about once a week but I don't leave here until 9ish and I get
there in 40mins tops) in the morning, but the afternoon commute seems to
never end.

3 is going to suck in Mass, and if you live in Salem it makes no sense
to take it, it would take way to long to get to it.. 93 is gonna suck at
the border and if you live in Nashua the same applies, doesn't make
sense to take it. Unless you're in Portsmouth or Exeter then 95 doesn't
make sense to take at all.

I tried taking backroads to work once when I worked in Burlington,
MIS-TAKE.. the back roads are WORSE.. and if you're in NH and go to Mass
for work then busses/trains are just to much of a hassle.
