Site defaced - what next?

Considering that website defacement, while a PITA [see I am
learning acronyms!], is essentially akin to grafiti, it would be
a shame to further viagra'tise law enforcement through it.  Every
now and then grafiti is someone's only or best means of political
speech too (though rare with scriptie defacements).

/me finds it hard to imagine $10K worth of grafiti.
