Jeff asked how to do audio with Open Office presentations.
Unfortunately I have only learned how to do this with slide transitions (i.e.
when you are going to the next slide), not by embedding an object somewhere
on the slide and activating it.
To add audio to slide transitions, have the slide that you want to associate the
sound with in front of you in edit mode. Pick the "Slide Show" menu at the
top, and select the "Slide Transition" menu item.
When the "Slide Transition" window pops up, there is a little box at the
top of the screen, second from the left, that has a musical note in it.
Click on that. Another window will appear.
Toward the bottom of that window is another box with a musical note in it.
Click on that and the finder box will highlight, and you can locate a file
that has your sound in it. Formats supported at this point are:
Sun/NeXT Audio
Creative Labs Audio
Sound
Apple/SGI Audio
Amiga SVX Audio
There is a "Play" button to test the sound. Click again to stop playing it.
The sound starts when the slide is transitioned to in slide show mode. It
stops when the file runs out or the next slide is transitioned.
