Very Cool.  I don't know much about the technology involved, but I used 
to (briefly) work for Concerto Software -- a call-center 
hardware/software provider.  At the time, I noticed that there was a GNU 
project called Bayonne for telephony.  Their website is at
http://www.gnu.org/software/bayonne/
They haven't released any news this year, so perhaps the project is a 
bit stalled.
