Desktop Linux (fwd)

Haven't tried those two lately. We've been too "ivory tower" using 
debian, gentoo on
our sparc servers and RH8/kickstart for workstations. We have just
started playing around with 'fedora' for a new workstation, seems to be 
quite nice.
Having some trouble with newer hardware though ie. SATA drives.
