Yeah, exactly.  Games are the biggest one.  But they're not alone in
the category, either...  For example, as far as I have been able to
determine, there are currently no good video editing packages for
Linux.  This is a small problem for me, and a big problem for a friend
of mine.  He is interested in moving away from Microsoft, but is
reluctant to move to linux, precisely because of a lack of available
software titles, most especially these two (games and Adobe products).
He feels (and I think rightly so) that his options are more limited.

My personal opionion of game platforms is that I already have a PC
which is more versatile and more powerful, so why should I buy one?

It's absolutely the case.  My dad has also considered Linux, but
understands that he can't play his favorite games on it.  So he's not
interested.
