I think what the problem that people have is what they think the 
internet is..

For most consumers it's the web and email, perhaps some IM..

For most geeks or people that understand what the internet can do it's 
an IP and that's it.

Luckally there are ISPs that understand this (MV is a great example) 
where they give you an IP and as long as you don't break the law and do 
other stupid stuff you're left alone.
