Samba and XP Question

I assume there is a simple answer to this question, but looking at the
Samba docs and Google searches did not turn up a simple answer or any
answer it seemed.  I recently added an XP Pro workstation to a
simple, workgroup type network using Samba 2.  The XP box can see and
use the Samba shares without any difficulty.  The issue that arises is
that each time the user turns on the machine, the mapped drive is not
connected until they give a user name and password to connect to the
network drive.  The question is how do you make the connecting to the
mapped drive automatic?  Under Xp is seems the user does not need to
give a user name and password upon logging since they simply click on
their user name icon and their preferences are loaded.  Perhaps that is
where the rub comes in?
