Is the username / password the same on the XP system as on the Samba system?
If they differ you will be prompted. If they are the same you shouldn't
be. Having
said that, I have had oddities with XP connecting to non-XP systems
(including
Windows NT 4.0 & Windows 9x, as well as Samba). Since I have so few XP
systems at present, I've not taken the time to nail down the problem.
The behavior
is similar. Randomly prompting for username/password information which
it should
know to connect automatically.
