   I keep my ssh keys on an encrypted filesystem on the laptop.  It's a 
   pain to backup, but lets me feel more comfortable with having my laptop 
   stolen.  I guess I worry a bit about what someone might find in the 
   swapfile, but not too much.

There are some kernels you can use to encrypt your swap, too. (Beware:
this can be slow!)  You could also encrypt the entire root filesystem,
so the laptop would be useless to anyone without your key.
