So refute them.

No, it's not that simple.  You can't analyze a business trend and 
ignore the rationale behind it.  The reason big business wants the 
repairs to be expensive is because they want to sell a new unit 
instead.  The reason the gap between repairs and a new unit can be so 
low I addressed previously.
