Well. I have to say, Ben's discussion of DNS was truly enlightening. I
learned a lot about DNS -- there were things I hadn't known that I now do,
and things I thought I knew, that I now know I didn't.

In other words, it was a good discussion.

For those who weren't in attendance, though, it's difficult to convey the
environment in which Ben was able to deliver such an interesting talk: the
function room in the upstairs of Martha's is fairly large, and has a
divider that can be put up to separate the two sides of the room for
different groups. I believe tonight may be the first night this has
occured to us. Most of the time, it probably would have been a relatively
benign sort of group in the other half -- perhaps someone's birthday
party, retirement party, what-have-you. Tonight, it was drunken
Christmas-party karaoke.

Needless to say, this adds a certain dynamic to DNS that might otherwise
be lacking.

And Ben came through like a trouper.

So, Ben, thanks for the talk, and thanks even more for your willingness to
talk loudly, and manage -- somehow -- to keep a straight face.

Oh, yeah: and Santa Hall also handed out some nifty Tux tie clips from
Brazil. They're nifty, and I can't wait to wear it with my Tux tie.
