This is just too funny for words. I had to do some digging into it

In short, Microsoft is actioning off invitations to beta test "MSN
Messenger Live" which, when released, will be _free software_.

So in short you are paying MS for the chance to QC their software for
them. Once complete everyone else in the world will get the "stable"
version for free.

Think I need to go check on my dog and my cat to make sure they are not
sleeping together and that there's not a 50ft. marshmallow guy outside
my house.
