"Embedded system"

I'm about to set up a system for a client.  Initially, I was going to go
with a fairly high-powered AMD-64 system, but it suddenly occurred to me
that that might well be the wrong approach.  It's not doing anythingh
high-powered -- some firewall stuff, OpenVPN, mail gateway, etc.

So I was thinking that this whole system could probably be done without
moving parts.  I'd prefer to run with off of flash, instead of a CD-ROM,
'cause I could then make changes w/o having to actually *be* there.  And
the option for a couple of PCI cards would be nice.

Does anyone know of any hardware that might fit the bill?
