Forgive me if this post comes across as rude, but my previous post was
intended to be humorous (which I thought I made sufficiently clear, even
for the humor impaired) and the tone of the below response seems
completely unwarranted.

Well, if you would "shut your yap" and actually read my previous post,
you'd realize that the only tool I know anything about is up2date.
Furthermore, I was asking questions regarding yum because I have
interest in learning about it. Honestly, I'd forgotten about apt for
rpm (from how little I hear of it, it sounds like it's little used? Is
this true? If so, anybody have thoughts as to why?) but this hardly
excuses the rather rude tone of your posting.

In addition, since when has a mailing list been a place to suppress
opinions and discussions that are even marginally on topic? "shut your
yap" indeed.

And I would analogize your post with a "typical stupid american jumping
to conclusions without even bothering to look at all the information
immediately in front of them".

(Sorry for the dis on Americans - I've been chatting with several
friends from Europe via irc that past couple days and they've got me in
a mood *grin*)
