Taking a left towards other-small-unix-like-systems, AlphaBaby for 
MacOS X is fantastic for the pre-verbal infant.  Simple shapes, funny 
sounds, and pictures of the family at their demand.

One could probably hack-up a WX/perl workalike in a couple hours. (and, 
yes, I know you could do it in 1:45 in python...) :)
