I think I presented that the wrong way. I was trying to illustrate that
early evening meetings-before-the-meetings were feasible. What I'd like
to focus on now would be a Python SIG, following Bill Sconce's lead. I
agree that there might also be a need for a LAMP/FOSS Developers group,
but I'm afraid we might split up in too many directions at once if we
generalize too much - after all, we talked about LAMP for 13 nights at
NHTI, and barely scratched the surface. Besides for a Newbies Track
and/or book study group, I envision more advanced developer topics
which likely cross language barriers, but could be Python-oriented to
suit the SIG: Subversion setup for Python, UML diagramming for Python,
Python Developer Community Resources, Python Book Reviews, Configuring
Apache for Python, Data Access from Python, MySQL/PostGreSQL
programming for Python, etc., where a decent Perl Monger or Ruby Rube
could attend and mentally map one to the other. (Programmer's Secret
#27: they're all the same,, well, except LISP) Occasionally,
language-neutral discussions like software development lifecycle
management and consulting topics would be welcomed, and may allow some
cross-meeting-sharing with the regional LUGs and outside organizations
like SwaNH Consultants and others...
