Oh. I forgot. The CDs:

CD1 - SUSE Linux 9.2 live CD

CD2 -
    Unison (file synchronizer)
    OpenOffice.org 1.1.3
Topologilinux (a bootable-from Windows Linux distro)
    Seapine (SCM)
Gtray (gmail monitor (Dave: written in Ruby!))
    Cube (multi-player 3D shooter game)

All the programs covered in magazine's HotPicks section
    KDevelop
SDLPRrogramming - source for Trout Wars
    Duper - a duplicate-file-removal tool
    Foreworkx - pyrotechnic eye candy
    MyContacts - a contact manager
    TreeLine - a tree-structured information manager
Usb-mount - USB storage desktop integration for hotplug
Xdiskusage - graphical display of disk usage
OCaml - latest implementation of caml
    LBreakout - arcade game
TuxPaint - drawing for young children
    MagicPoint - a presentation tool

I'm reconsidering whether $15 is really too much. It's a lot
for a magazine, but if even one of the things on the CDs saves
me 3 hours of time, whether reinventing my own file sync program
(I've wanted to try Unison for a long time, and now I've even
got a quickstart guide, printed in color, besides the software
on CD), or 3 hours of downloading (OOo takes that and more,
here on dialup), even at minimum wage there's the $15...
