Play wav files from serial input

There are a number of jukebox applications for linux out there. Some
you can point your web browser at & it play on your machine.
Some let you feed CDs & it'll automatically rip, labal, and catalog
them, then pop the CD out for someone to pop another in when they walk
by.
Of course it's all MP3 or OGG so it takes less space.

O'Reilly's hack books have an example too I think.
