Save Money on Software With Open Source

I was hoodwinked, er, I mean invited ;-) to speak briefly at this
event based on the audience reception to last year's symposium.  I
have been too busy to attend any local chapter meetings lately, but if
you want to heckle, er, I mean support me, I'll be there extolling the
business value proposition engendered in free software.

While I dig up my old presentation and focus my thoughts...If you have
a good anecdote or real-life experience that you don't mind sharing,
consider yourself asked: Why should a business owner use / develop /
support free software in their business?  What are the benefits?
risks? costs?  I would especially like to hear of 'testimonials' from
the point of view of non-list-members because it's a whole different
perspective compared with tech-savvy linux users.
