Grip is merely a very nice front-end for any number of tools.  It only
rips to ogg or mp3 provided the tools to do so are already installed.
To rip the cdda track of a CD into wav, you need something like
cdparanoia; to convert to ogg, you need the ogg vorbis tool suite; to
convert to mp3, you need something like lame, notlame, toolame, etc.

All these tool also provide the functionality to do everything from
the command line manually, but grip provides a nice gui-wrapper around
everything with very sensible defaults so that for those who don't
care, don't have to, and can just click the 'Rip+Encode' button :)
