Oops, forgot to mention that I had also chosen Disk .. but since I saw 
that Audio was not toggled, I toggled that one too.  But, still I cannot 
access the CD via Konqueror as a regular user .. the icon churns for a 
lenghty while, then reverts to the static music Cd icon.

Which expalins why when I "copy" the .mp3 files from the CD the 
throughput is so much slower than when copying the .wav files.

But, that then also means that I somehow set up Lame or CDparanoia to 
work somewhat?
