You hit a soft spot on me here... I'm a big fan of my old Dell laptops (I just
swapped most my Inspiron 7000 parts for an Inspiron 7500 shell I acquired for
free) and have risen more than a few pieces from the dead to make useful
laptops for myself. Anyway, my power connector on my last motherboard was
screwed up just the same and I found a good cheap fix for it is the docking
station. I bought a docking station for the laptop for $9.11 on eBay
including shipping and it made a great workaround for the broken power
connector since the docking station had it's own.
Anyway, if you still have it and would rather do something useful with it,
it's an idea.
