  You incorrectly perceive a few people making a lot of noise as
widespread interest.

  I'll also dispute the "technically-related" claim; most of this
stuff has little to no technical content.  Go back and read the
RFID/toll booth thread.  Technical content was pretty low.  If there
actually *was* some technical content, that might at least have some
merit.  But no, this latest thread was mainly about toll policy,
evading speed law enforcement, who is responsible for what in a given
thought experiment, whose debate skills are best, etc.

  My point is that people with relevant, worth-while content feel
uncomfortable posting to this list because of this crap.  They
perceive this list as full of flamewaring foolishness.  That keeps
them away.  I think that's a damn shame.

  And I'd say I've got just as much a right to pointlessly bitch about
all the pointless bitching as the people doing the pointless bitching
have to pointlessly bitch.
