Ink jet refill kit experiences?

Trying "ink refills" via Google make it clear there are a million  
people trying to sell this stuff, but likely only a few  
manufacturers. many of the sites have pretty detailed instructions,  
and the cartridges have their initial fill port where they can be  
refilled using supplied blunt-tipped syringes. I'll post my  
experiences to the board, if anyone's interested.
