Ink jet refill kit experiences?

I mentioned I used a 6-separate-ink Epson printer in my last message.  
I just happened to see now that it (the R300) is on Madness at CompUSA 
tomorrow night for $60 after rebate:

Supported by GIMP Print and reportedly the CD printing works directly 
from GIMP.

Plus there's lots of other cheap computer junk to be had there.
