My Debian system has a pretty decent man page
for "interfaces" in which we find this:

   Options are usually indented for clarity [...]
   but are not required to be.

...and which also explains that a stanza is terminated either
by EOF or the beginning of a new stanza, defined as a line
beginning with one of "iface", "mapping", "auto" or "allow-" .
