What mail system? There are often options that allow one to use
native nix software to connect to various doze-based mail systems.

Hmmm... okay... on my system, with redesktop, empirical testing reveals that:

On the nix/X11 side of things, when I highlight text with the mouse,
it usually gets copied into the PRIMARY X11 selection. When that
happens, said text is automagically copied to the doze clipboard (via
rdesktop), where I can paste it normally (in my doze programs, usually
with [CTRL]+[V]).

On the doze side of things, if I copy text to the doze clipboard, it
automagically gets copied to the X11 PRIMARY *and* CLIPBOARD
selections. I can then paste it using middle-mouse-click (for
PRIMARY) or Edit->Paste (CLIPBOARD) or whatever.

Fedora Core 4
  kernel-2.6.16-1.2069_FC4
  glibc-2.3.6-3
  xorg-x11-6.8.2-37.FC4.49.2
  rdesktop-1.4.0-2
Win XP Pro SP2

I don't know anything about X10 cut buffers. JWZ says they're
obsolete and I should never, ever use them. ;-)
